My name is Shawn Montano.  I’m a four-time NPPA Editor of the Year.  I have 5 Heartland Regional Emmy awards.  I have 1 Regional Edward R. Murrow award.  I have  3 Colorado Broadcasters Association Awards.  I have numerous NPPA BOP awards.  I’ve worked at KPHO, KMGH, KUSA, KCNC, KWGN, and KDVR.  I’ve also freelance edit documentaries, corporate videos, small business profiles and more.

On October 12th, 2008 I decided to start an educational blog about video editing.  There are over 50 posts here about video editing.

I am no longer in a newsroom.  My focus is now on teaching.  I currently teach at The University of Northern Colorado.  I teach Media Management, Digital Storytelling, Video Production, and Media Writing.
